Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty Chief of Staff Brian McClung has formed a “strategic partnership” with public relations firm and lobbying shop Goff & Howard.

McClung will work with the team on projects and move into the the firm’s St. Paul offices, according to a Tuesday news release.  However, they will “remain separate entities that will work together with clients on a project-by-project basis.”

“The world is changing rapidly and businesses, nonprofits and associations need allies who can work with them to navigate the complex world of public relations,” McClung said in a statement.  “This partnership will offer clients an unparalleled level of support in media relations, crisis communications, grassroots advocacy, online outreach, and marketing support.”

McClung left his job for Pawlenty in June to form his own communications firm, McClung Communications and Public Relations, and work as a spokesman for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s new political fund MN Forward.

Goff & Howard President Chris Georgacas, who is also a former chairman of the state Republican Party, said the addition of McClung helps to “strengthen” their position as a “leading public affairs and public relations firm in the Upper Midwest.”
