Three governors – and potential Republican presidential candidates – will be in one place next Saturday to help put GOP nominee Tom Emmer into the Minnesota governor’s office.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who has said he is considering a run for president, will be joined by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour to campaign for Emmer. All three have been featured in 2012 presidential surveys.
The location of the event has not been announced. The visit is just one of many by national politicians in the last few weeks. For Emmer, former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich has campaigned, as has former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and RNC Chairman Michael Steele.
For DFL nominee Mark Dayton, Vice President Joe Biden, former President Bill Clinton and DNC Chairman Tim Kaine have all campaigned on his behalf, and President Barack Obama will be in the state this Saturday at the University of Minnesota to headline a Dayton rally.
