With primary voting less than 72 hours away, House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher was out on the campaign trail Saturday attempting to motivate the DFL faithful. She attended a rally at the offices of TakeAction Minnesota with state legislative candidates Rena Moran and Vang Lor.
The DFL-endorsed candidate then headed to the Martin Luther King Community Recreation Center for a picnic. Roughly three dozen individuals — including U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, state Sen. Sandy Pappas and state House challenger Jeremiah Ellis — were on hand for the gathering.
“We anticipated a bigger crowd,” Pappas said, “but they’re out working.”
