Former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton appears to be sitting pretty with just days to go before the DFL gubernatorial primary election, according to a new poll by KSTP and SurveyUSA.
When asked who they would vote for in the primary race, 43 percent of the poll’s respondents said Dayton, 27 percent said DFL-endorsed candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher , 22 percent opted for former state Rep. Matt Entenza , 1 percent for underdog Peter Idusogie and 7 percent said they were undecided. The poll claims a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percent.
The poll also shows all three DFLers ahead of GOP-endorsed candidate Tom Emmer , with Dayton leading the House representative by 14 percentage points. Kelliher beat Emmer by six percentage points (39 to 33 percent) and Entenza by five (38 to 33 percent), with a 2.7 percent margin of error.
