Matt Entenza announced his “leadership team” today, including three commissioners from the administration of former Gov. Jesse Ventura. The group of two-dozen advisers will play an informal role in the former House Minority Leader’s gubernatorial campaign.
“These are individuals who are not helping us because they’ve been promised a job,” Entenza said at a Capitol news conference on Wednesday. “Nobody’s been promised a job.”
The former Ventura administration officials included in the group are transportation commissioner Elwyn Tinklenberg, commerce commissioner David Jennings and administration commissioner David Fisher. Entenza described the former Independence Party governor’s team as the “best cabinet that this state had seen in modern times.”
Other notable officials on Entenza’s team of advisers: Ramsey County Commissioner Attorney Susan Gaertner, former state Senate Majority Leader John Hottinger and former DFL gubernatorial candidate Kelly Doran.
