The Senate’s Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct will meet Wednesday morning to consider the behavior of Sen. Satveer Chaudhary, DFL-Fridley. The three-term senator has been under fire for amending legislation in order to improve walleye fishing on the Fish Lake Reservoir, where he owns a cabin.
Last month Senate Republicans sent a letter of inquiry to the ethics committee seeking an advisory opinion on whether Chaudhary’s conduct violated Minnesota’s rules regarding conflicts of interest. The four-member ethics committee is chaired by Sen. James Metzen, DFL-South St. Paul.
Former state Rep. Barb Goodwin filed today to run against Chaudhary in a DFL primary.
