After going down in defeat this morning in a state House committee, the immediate fate of the Minnesota Vikings stadium bill is in the hands of the Senate State and Local Government Committee.
At this hour, business groups are testifying in front of the committee in favor of SF 3399, sponsored by Sen. Tom Bakk, DFL-Cook.
“The business community is 100 percent behind getting this job done,” said Sam Grabarski, president and CEO of the Minneapolis Downtown Council.
Early this morning, the House Local Government Division passed an amended version of the bill. But the House State and Local Government committee later in the morning shot down the bill 10-9.
Update: The Senate State and Local Government Operations committee passed the Vikings bill on a roll-call vote 9-3.
