Noznesky is latest hire for Children’s Hospitals lobbying team

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota has beefed up its lobbying team.

Health care lobbyist Sara Noznesky has decided to leave her job as manager of legislative affairs at the Minnesota Medical Association [MMA] to lobby for Children’s. Dave Renner will continue to lead MMA’s lobbying effort at the Capitol this session.

That’s not the only significant hire Children’s has made in recent months.

Last October, Children’s hired Scott Leitz as director of health policy and advocacy. Leitz had been assistant commissioner for policy, quality and compliance at the Minnesota Department of Health [MDH]. While at MDH, Leitz worked on the major health care reform bill that Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed at the end of the 2008 legislative session. MDH hasn’t advertised to fill Leitz’s position, according to a MDH spokesman.

Children’s is the seventh largest pediatric health care organization in the U.S.
