Gov. Tim Pawlenty is currently giving his final State of the State speech in the House chamber. The two-term Republican governor’s speech, as prepared, includes a job creation proposal that features a 20 percent reduction in corporate tax rates and an angel investor tax credit. Pawlenty also unveils a proposed expansion of the state’s JOBZ tax-assistance program aimed at helping the Ford plant in St. Paul survive. In addition, Pawlenty renewed his call for a constitutional amendment strictly limiting future state funding.
