There are a couple of notable developments today in filings by Minnesota political action committees.
One interesting filing is the emergence of a PAC supported by Democrats called WIN Minnesota Political Action Fund that formed on Dec. 16. The PAC received two $25,000 contributions.
Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board Executive Director Gary Goldsmith said the filings could be available online as soon as 4:30 p.m. Today is the deadline to file.
WIN Minnesota is run by Ken Martin, who was a senior staffer in Mike Hatch’s 2006 DFL gubernatorial campaign.
As WIN Minnesota is ramping up, Edinans for Erhardt has closed down.
Edinans for Erhardt, which raised substantial amounts of money from labor unions and other groups in 2008 to support former GOP Rep. Ron Erhardt’s bid as an independent, has disbanded. Edinans for Erhardt was separate from Erhardt’s campaign. The money in the fund was distributed to other political committees.
Erhardt is planning a bid this year to seek the DFL endorsement for his old House District 41A seat.
