Religious Persecution; Asylum

Listen to this article

Even though a Nigerian Christian was attacked by Muslims in 1998 and was warned to stop evangelizing, he was attacked in 1999 by a mob of Muslims when he returned to his high school to evangelize at an assembly and in 2001 he was shot in the back while walking to church, his claims of persecution were weakened because he traveled to and from Nigeria for years without seeking asylum and he failed to report the shooting incident to the police despite the fact that they had helped him after the 1999 beating, therefore the denial of the application for asylum was proper.
