Perhaps since we all agree that the law school system is flawed, and doesn't teach how to practice law, we should try to fix that problem first. I think a practical law course would be highly effective. A teacher acting as judge; two wannabe lawyers, a real case with names, and if it is to be a criminal law case a jury of off the street citizens. this would ensure that the new-found lawyers have at least some fake experience.

It does create a question as to what the court would do with all the provisions of the USA Patriot Act that create administrative search provisions claiming no warrant is required.

As a former prosecutor and a current public defender, it has always been my opinion that prosecutors are low on the pecking order when a defendant is upset with what happens in court. Defendants are made at their attorneys for not getting them off, judges for not believing them or not being fair and then prosecutors. Defendants know the prosecutors don' like them, but they ate just doing their jobs. Is Rep Cornish willing to let defense attorneys pack heat? Doubtful.

Hennepin County Probate Court does NOT accept Visa, or any other credit card. Their machine broke a couple of years ago, and the the costs of repair or replacement have not been included within the Court's allocated budget.

3,000 billable hrs. Per year is totally unrealistic if not outright inhumane. It is an open invitation to fraud. I can't imagine why anyone would want to even work there, or why any client would use the services or pay the bills of that firm.
