The Infinity Project got a shout-out from Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Sen. Al Franken at a Senate judiciary committee hearing with Jane Kelly, President Barack Obama’s nominee for the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Kelly has been a federal public defender for over 20 years and if confirmed will be the first public defender since 1891 (when the court was founded) and the second woman to serve on the appellate court in this circuit.  Klobuchar said, “I am happy to see their [Infinity Project's] efforts paying off.” The hearing was cordial, even jocular, and Sen. Grassley said to Kelly, “I don’t think you have to worry about this.”  A vote will wait for a while until written questions are answered, and the record will remain open for a week.

Congrats to Infinity, its director Debra Fitzpatrick, and its chair, Jeanette Bazis.
