Judge Michael Melloy of the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has told President Obama he will take senior status on Jan. 30, 2013. Melloy is chambered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Melloy, 64, was appointed to the bench by President George W. Bush and took his seat in 2002.  He served on the District Court for the Northern District of Iowa from 1992 to 2002.
