Woodstock just a degree of separation away from Minnesota lawyer

Today, as I am sure you know by now, marks the 40th anniversary of the end of the three-day Woodstock Festival. As you probably know, the event — billed as “An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music” — was held on the 600-acre upstate New York farm of one Max Yasgur.

What you may not know is that Max Yasgur’s nephew — Stevan Yasgur — is a Minnesota lawyer who practices (what else?) collaborative law (click here for his firm website). Be it coincidence or karma — Minnesota Lawyer’s Michelle Lore bumped into Stevan Yasgur last week while she was filming video interviews with randomly selected attendees at Minnesota CLE’s conference for solo and small-firm lawyers in Duluth.  We posted the video that includes Yasgur’s comments on our blog yesterday. In another apparent timing coincidence, Yasgur launched his own blog last Thursday (Click here to see it), just days before the start of the anniversary of the Woodstock Festival.

All of this may just be some sort of cosmic accident, but we had to toss it all out there into the blogosphere anyway. Peace and love to all our blog readers …

    Thank you for the nice comments and, especially, the links. I’m still amazed at the number of unsolicited “Are you any relation to . . .?” questions I get 40 years after the fact.

    Oh, yeah–and I loved “Walking in Memphis.”
