Last chance before the MSBA truly bucks convention
Jun 24th, 2009 by Mark Cohen
Most of the MinnLawyer blog crew will be out of the office tomorrow on the Appalachian Trail … no wait, in Argentina… err …. I mean at the bar convention in Duluth.
We may or may not check in here as time and wireless connections allow, but I wanted to let you know it will not be business as usual at MinnLawyer blog for the next two days. Of course, if you really want to make sure you don’t miss anything important, you can check out our after-the-fact print coverage in Minnesota Lawyer (click here to subscribe if you are so foolish as to not already be a member of our subscriber family) or, you know like actually go to the convention (click here for last-minute registration information).
This is the last year the annual bar meeting will be in its traditional three-day convention format, so it would be a good time to catch it. I know with the economy down some may think of bypassing the State Bar convention as a cost-saving measure, but that may be penny-wise, pound foolish. With business harder to come by and the lawyer job market not what it used to be (and lawyer layoffs continuing to loom), networking is more important than ever. Plus it’s a great way to support the profession while getting a few CLE credits and enjoying the lovely Lake Superior shoreline. Not to mention getting the opportunity to meet 3/4ths of the Minnlawyer blog team in the flesh. What more could you ask for?
Hope to see you all there, and, if not, we’ll see if we can’t throw you a virtual bone or two.
