Appearing before a judge for the first time? As with any court appearance, you want to be as prepared as you possibly can.
To that end, check out the Judicial Practice Guide, a survey of state district court judges conducted by the Minnesota State Bar Association Civil Litigation Section. Of course, you will want to be familiar with the relevant court rules, but the Judicial Practice Guide may provide insight on subject matter that is unique to each judge, such as scheduling and courtroom conduct.
The Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association provides similar guidance on its website.

Michael graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 2009. During law school he was a board member of the Hamline Law Review and he completed a judicial externship in United States District Court. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Michael was a newspaper reporter prior to enrolling in law school.
