Stephen E. Schemenauer is a Stinson Leonard Street business and commercial litigator whose diverse practice often focuses on real estate and construction litigation, and also has included shareholder disputes and employment law.
Trent Scheidecker, a chiropractor and founder of ChiroWay, a chiropractic franchise system, says that Schemenauer “believes in his clients. He wants to understand what drives our business and he puts himself as a resource to serve our needs.”
Schemenauer is also a qualified Rule 114 mediator, and has served as a neutral in a variety of cases. Schemenauer’s pro bono activities include work with the Volunteer Lawyers Network, service as a pro bono neutral through the Hennepin County ADR program, and membership on the board of the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans.
But focusing exclusively on Schemenauer’s legal work would tell only part of his story.
Schemenauer has served in the United States military for more than two decades, including a deployment in Afghanistan during a leave of absence from law school, and a deployment in Iraq while an associate at Stinson Leonard. Schemenauer has received numerous commendations for his military service, including two Bronze Stars. He is currently on a one-year sabbatical from Stinson Leonard while attending the United States Army War College, and recently was selected for a prestigious fellowship at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Schemenauer indicates that his colleagues at Stinson Leonard consistently have been supportive of his career in the military.
Steve Schemenauer’s impressive legal and military background warrant the honor of naming him an Up & Coming Attorney for 2015.
