Suspension of Savage attorney sought

The Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility is seeking the suspension of Savage attorney Kristian Lee Oyen. Oyen, who is already on probation, has 20 days to answer the allegations.

The petition alleges that Oyen demonstrated a pattern of failing to appear for hearings, as well as neglect and incompetence. The petition details client interactions and case development involving several clients.

Oyen was suspended from the practice of law in 2010 for 60 days for “having sexual relations with a client, failing to diligently handle three client matters, failing to communicate with two clients and delaying the return of a client’s file upon termination of representation.” He was reinstated to the practice of law and placed on supervised probation in March 2011. In March 2012, Oyen was publicly reprimanded and placed on an additional two years of supervised probation. His current probation period ends in March 2015.
