Hennepin County Court jettisons reduced office hours

District Court offices in Hennepin County are returning to full schedules effective immediately, Chief Judge Peter Cahill announced Wednesday.

Cahill cited better funding that will allow the court to staff all of its court offices and public counters from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We are pleased that the Fourth Judicial District can return to a full schedule as a result of adequate and stable funding that enables us to stabilize staffing levels,” said Chief Judge Cahill said in a prepared statement.

Several court offices had been operating on reduced hours since 2008 due to funding shortfalls.
