Three candidates recommended for Fifth District judgeship

Two county attorneys and one assistant county attorney have been recommended by the Commission on Judicial Selection to fill a vacant judgeship in the Fifth Judicial District.

Cottonwood County Attorney Nicholas Anderson, Assistant Martin County Attorney Michael Trushenski and Martin County Attorney Terry Viesselman have been recommended to replace Judge Linda S. Titus. The new judge will be chambered at Jackson in Jackson County.

Anderson handles the prosecution of all civil and criminal cases brought by Cottonwood County while operating a solo practice. Trushenski prosecutes felony and gross misdemeanors for Martin County and works for Viesselman & Burke. Viesselman also prosecutes criminal cases for Martin County. He counsels the county board and various county departments, as well as working as a partner at Viesselman & Burke.

The Fifth Judicial District contains Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, and Watonwan Counties.
