Should judges vote in a "feminist direction?"

Daughters and judging

A new study shows that judges with daughters are likely to be more empathic toward women’s issues. This seems intuitive to me, but there’s more information in the 18 page document available here.

The authors conclude that having at least one daughter corresponds to a 7 percent increase in the proportion of cases in which a judge will vote in a feminist direction.  (Don’t ask me what a feminist direction is.  I’m not going there.)  But, as Above the Law puts it,”One Woman’s Empathy is Another Man’s Bias.”
