Three judgeship vacancies occurring in First Judicial District

The Commission on Judicial Selection is accepting applications to replace three retiring judges in the First Judicial District.

The new judges will replace Judge Thomas G. McCarthy, Judge Richard C. Perkins and Judge Richard G. Spicer. The seats will be chambered in Gaylord, Chaska and Hastings, respectively.

The commission announced that it is looking for “fair, experienced, and civic-minded individuals” and will consider “integrity, maturity, health (if job related), judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience, and community service” when choosing new judges.
