Housing Court Project can help landlords, tenants

Hennepin County court officials are reminding people of its Housing Court project in the wake of the deaths of five children in a Minneapolis apartment fire. The case has heightened interest in tenant and landlord rights, said court spokeswoman Nancy Peters.

The Housing Court Project provides free help with legal questions dealing with tenant and landlord issues, such as emergency repairs, lock outs, evictions, lease violations, repair problems and service problems, among other issues. The project provides help on a walk-in basis at the Hennepin County Government Center, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – noon.

The 4th District Housing Court, Hennepin County, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid and the Volunteer Lawyers Network all collaborated on the Housing Court Project.
