Hennepin County District Court Chief Judge Peter Cahill gave a “state of the court” address Feb. 13. He told court employees that he and others were working hard at the Legislature to get funding for raises for them.

“Raises will happen,” Cahill said. He also said the state judicial council is putting together a plan to improve communication “up and down the ranks.”

Cahill also said the district is keeping up with disposition and clearance rates in civil cases but has lost some ground in major criminal cases. The court disposed of 93 percent of major criminal cases and 98 percent of minor criminal cases last year.
