The total amount of a judgment, for purposes of determining the statutory interest rate, is determined by adding each component of the judgment as delineated by the district court. Additionally, when a probate petition is filed before a written notice of a claim or demand for arbitration, prejudgment statutory interest begins on the filing date — not the date of death.
