Seymour Mansfield has joined Foley & Mansfield in its Minneapolis office as a partner.
Mansfield was the last remaining partner to resurface following the closure of his old firm Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen earlier this fall.
At his new firm, he will continue his work in deals and disputes involving the U.S. and China and early stage medical devices ventures, executive and professional employment matters and commercial litigation.
He is a member of the board of US-China Business Connections and co-chair of the upcoming UCBC Trade Mission to China in April 2013. Mansfield is a former governing board member of Lawyers Associated Worldwide, a commercial association of more than 100 independent commercial law firms located in 55 countries.
Mansfield served as executive director and chief counsel for Minnesota’s largest program for civil legal aid and he was recognized in 2009 at the Minnesota the Law Day Dinner, as Fund for Legal Aid Honoree for his life time achievements in supporting legal services and justice for the disadvantaged.
“[He] is a natural fit with our firm,” said Foley & Mansfield founding partner Kyle Mansfield in a press release. “His practice niches complement and enhance our capabilities, strengthening the scope and depth of our representation of clients that do business both nationally and internationally.”
Kyle and Seymour are not related.
