Two firms selected by sports facilities authority

The Dorsey and Fabyanske law firms scored today when they were selected as general counsel and legal counsel, respectively, by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority to handle legal issues for the new Viking’s stadium. 

Jay Lindgren will serve as lead counsel from Dorsey & Whitney. As general counsel, Dorsey will oversee all legal aspects of the project including financing, real estate, construction strategy, labor and employment, intellectual property and a range of other issues.  The firm has experience with complex public infrastructure construction projects, including contract, environmental and land acquisition law.

 

Mark Westra will serve as lead counsel from Fabyanske, Westra, Hart & Thomson. The firm has construction law experience and has represented some of the region’s marquee projects, including Mall of America, Minnesota History Center, Minneapolis Convention Center and Hiawatha Light Rail Transit.
