People get ready, e-filing is coming

Look, e-filing is here and you aren’t always going to be able to find a younger person to help you with it. You’d better attend the training on Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. at the Hennepin County Government Center Auditorium, A Level.  Otherwise note that step-by-step instructions and a list of numerous training sessions are offered throughout the month of August at other metro locations on the Fourth Judicial District website. You can find that, can’t  you?  It’s at www.mncourts.gov/district/4/.

On September 1, e-filing will arrive in Hennepin County for all family and civil cases. One doubts that difficulties with e-filing will be accepted as an excuse for tardiness. “We urge all lawyers to take advantage of the August training blitz as we anticipate the mandatory eFile & eServe date of September 1st.  Exceptions will be extremely rare,” said Chief Judge Peter Cahill.

  1. I’m not an attorney, in fact that would be nearly impossible since I am 18 years of age.

Am I incorrect in seeing this e-File as a possible business opportunity for a technically proficient young man to launch?

Or would everyone here be like my dear father and tell me to ‘complete my college education before you start thinking about opening your own business?’

Thank you kindly for any thoughts and have a nice day!
