Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings star running back, has tapped legendary Texas lawyer Rusty Hardin to defend him.
Over the weekend Peterson was arrested at a Houston night club after employees told him it was time to leave. Reports say Peterson got aggressive and shoved an off duty police officer and that it took three officers to subdue and arrest Peterson. He was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He is free on $1,000 bond.
Hardin recently represented former Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemens on charges that he lied to Congress about not taking performance-enhancing drugs during his baseball career. Clemens was acquitted of the charges earlier this year. He even has his own Wikipedia page.
Peterson and Clemens are not the only athletes Hardin has represented in his career. His past clients include: Warren Moon, Wade Boggs, Scottie Pippen and others.
He also represented the accounting firm Arthur Andersen during the Enron scandal of 2005.
