Amy Senser sentenced to 41 months

Amy Senser has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for killing a man in 2011 when she hit him with her vehicle.

She was convicted in May on two felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide in the death of Anousone Phanthavong. Her defense attorney asked that she be sentenced to probation because she had no criminal record and showed remorse for what happened.

The prosecutor, however, asked the judge to sentence her to the maximum sentence of 57 months in prison because she had not taken responsibility for the death.

It is a harsh sentence considering no evidence of intoxication. Not surprising considering the source.
