‘Passolt’ does not mean the end of maintenance (access required)

Minnesota has witnessed significant changes in marriage and gender relations during the past 40 to 50 years and those changes have been reflected both in statute and case law governing the award of spousal maintenance as noted in “Does ‘Passolt’ mean the end of maintenance?,” Minnesota Lawyer, July 2. I would submit, however, that the conclusions writer draws from that history are not warranted.
