Heydinger to head PUC

Administrative Law Judge Beverly Jones Heydinger has been appointed to head the Public Utilities Commission, Gov. Mark Dayton’s office announced



“Judge Heydinger brings to the PUC valuable experience in dealing with energy and telecommunications issues; as an Administrative Law Judge, Judge Heydinger has held hearings and written decisions related to many of the issues that the PUC faces in the course of business,” a news release stated.

Heydinger has also served as the state’s Deputy Attorney General.

Heydinger also chairs the Minnesota Supreme Court’s committee that oversees grants for legal services to low income Minnesotans.

Judge Heydinger earned her B.A. from Carleton College, and a J.D. from the University of Michigan. She will take over at the PUC on July 2.

  1. Everyone who has every worked with Bev says she is great! So, Congratulations to her and Governor Dayton on another good appointment! Also of note is that Gov. D. has replaced one Carleton grad (Ellen Anderson) with another as Chair of the PUC!
