A funeral service for longtime Minneapolis plaintiff’s attorney Charles Thomas Hvass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennenpin Avenue So., Minneapolis.
Hvass died May 20 in Delray Beach, Fla. He was 90.
Hvass grew up in Lubbcok, Texas and graduated law school from the University of Texas. He was a pilot with the Air Force during World War II and flew bombing missions over Germany. After the war he moved to Minnesota and founded the firm Hvass Weisman & King.
Hvass specialized in airplane crash cases. He was a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was president of the International Society of Barristers, Minnesota Trial Lawyers, and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
