New judge appointed to 6th District bench (access required)

Dale O. Harris has been appointed to the 6th Judicial District trial court bench in Duluth. The vacancy occurred with the retirement of Judge Gerald C. Martin on Oct. 1, 2009.

Harris has been an assistant St. Louis County Attorney since 2004. He is also a reserve judge on the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals in Washington, D.C. He was the chief deputy St. Louis County court administrator in Duluth from 2001 to 2004, a litigation associate attorney with Hanft Fride from 2000 to 2001, and a judge advocate with the U.S. Navy in Everett/Bremerton, Washington, and in Washington, D.C. from 1993 to 2000. Harris earned his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in 1993 and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1990.
